Since there will be more of these kinds of entries to come, and just in case you might be wondering what's it about this book that I'm reading… Well, the title said it all!! Lady in Waiting is not about finding the right man, but being the right woman. Thus, it focuses on 10 qualities of a godly woman that are found in the Book of Ruth. These qualities will not only enhance our love relationship with our heavenly Bridegroom, but also guide us as single women, guard us while we date, support us in marriage, and comfort us if we are ever widowed or divorced. These characteristics are beautifully displayed in the life of Ruth. She recklessly abandons herself to the Lordship of Christ, diligently uses her single days, trusts God with unwavering faith, demonstrates virtue in daily life, loves God with undistracted devotion, stands for physical and emotional purity, lives in security, responds to life with contentment, makes choices based on her convictions, and waits patiently for God to meet her needs.
It tells us that even in being single, we could still live a satisfied and fulfilled life. Fulfillment for a Christian woman begins with the Lordship of Christ in every area of her life. Be sure and know that “no one, not even the man we will one day marry, can make us happy – only Jesus can.” How true!! More often than not we struggle with our fleshly desires of wanting something so badly, or someone, for this matter, that we tend to go according to our feelings and emotions… This is definitely not what God wants for each of us. He wants only the BEST for His precious little children and if only we would let Him have our life’s puzzles and thereafter wait patiently for His perfect timing to put those pieces together, without interfering in the process, everything will turn out just right!!
Praying that He will help me focus more on Him and Him alone, I will decide to rest my life’s story in His hands for the glory of His name. Taking the advice of many experienced friends, focusing on serving whole heartedly in my ministry for the Lord will now be my only main concern. Everything will fall into place according to His plans & timing… When He is placed first in my life, amen.
