Farewell, my friend(s)

There is a time for everything, as said in the first few verses of Ecc 3, a season for every activity under heaven… A time to be born a time to die… a time to tear down a time to mend… and so the list goes on… but lemme add a new one to the existing list - A time to meet a time to part, haha… As difficult as it may seem, the time will finally come when we have to say goodbye… no doubt it’s hard, but I believe it is all for the glory of His kingdom, all will turn out good *winkz* one is already hard enough, but wednesday saw TWO farewell celebrations for us, PraiseGivers… aaawww… hehe…

Being the youngest in the cell, it is not a wonder that I could relate well to the one next to youngest… and yes, being only a year older than me, Yen Leng was someone I could relate to… although I share nothing much about deep personal issues despite her constant pestering, I guess it’s just because we are merely one year apart… she was one of the few to whom I felt really comfortable chatting with even from the very beginning itself… don’t get me wrong, of course the rest of them are also dear to me =) anyways, she WAS the main person for the night, but besides that another farewell was in store for the PraiseGivers…

Connor was exceptionally quiet this time around, unlike his usual self… So we were assuming that it could be due to the reality of our multiplication taking effect on him, and he felt heavy-hearted to part with a portion of his sheep… the minute I saw Choon Ean, our zone leader for PJNorth 4, walked in the door, I knew that there was to be a meeting/discussion with both j-son my cell leader and connor the assistant, and so it is when j-son summoned for connor to meet them in the kitchen while the rest of us resumed our noisiness… two weeks is not too far away for me to start praying along with the leaders that God will show them the right thing to do in terms of who to shepherd and where will the new cell be… Some dropped hints about whom they wanna follow and whose leadership they wanna be with while others remained indifferent… All in all, it is the Lord that will show the leaders the answers… Hopefully, it’ll turn out good *winkz* we will all witness the birth of another new cell on the 9th…

Farewell, farewell *sighs* all that sad movies aside, we did have some good news, haha… contrary to the farewells and partings, we saw two people coming together, making a commitment to each other and of course to God… no, definitely not a wedding, just an acknowledgement of the beginning of their relationship as a couple… [I think dumc is famous for having more than one person with the same name, haha… so far we have 2 Nicole’s, 2 Debbie’s, 3 Alvin’s… will there be 2 or 3 elaine’s? wahaha] debbie, our new cell member (yes, another debbie… not Father’s Garden cell leader) fondly known as debbie debbie, finally got together with her darling, benny *winkz* what a sweet occasion for them despite all the teasing from my all-nonsense cell leader j-son, wahaha :p the creativity of the whole thing is just so amusing, heheh… turned out a lot like a wedding procedure, with the “wedding bells” song and a camera man recording the whole event… from the arrival of the couple, to the interview with both of them… from making clear the rules & guidelines to the reading of vows, which of coz had a little alteration instead of the real marriage vow (duhh!!), after which the exchanging of rings part was replaced with benny presenting a gift to debbie… a necklace with a cross pendant, as a reminder that Jesus was at the centre of their relationship… as he put it on for her (aaawww, so sweet!!), I cudn't help but picture them with a wonderful future together in the Lord, haha…

Congrats to you two!! May you set a good example in this relationship for others to follow =) “til breakup do you part” *lol* and not forgetting the ausie girl yen leng, haha… I’m glad our paths met, and I believe it is bcoz God is trying to work out something here… amen??
